The BW Junior Shuttle Circuit Finals took place at Flash Leisure Centre, Welshpool on Saturday 22nd March 2014. It was an action packed day with a total of 70 players from England and Wales qualifying for the event.

In the Under 11 event, Daniel Kite, who dominating the South Wales Circuit, took the singles title with a tight 3 set victory over Hereford's Josh Phillips 15/7, 12/15, 15/8. Ella Williams (Hereford) picked up the U11 girls singles title defeating Urvi Modha (NEWBA) 15/12 15/10. In the U11 boys doubles final, Max Williams & Josh Phillips prevailed over opponents Daniel Kite and Thomas Funnell winning the encounter 15/12, 15/11.

David Wedge (Conwy) won the U13 boys singles title with a good win over Nikhil Matthias (Pembroke) 15/12 15/13. Katy Harrington (Cheshire) continued her good form and took the U13 girls’ singles title, defeating Isobel Adams (Gwent) in the final 16/14 15/12. The U13 boys doubles final saw singles runner-up Nikhil Mathais and partner Rakshith Vijay (Pembroke) pick up the title, triumphing over William Jowett and Raymond Torri Cousins (S.Glam) 15/8 15/4. Katy Harrington, with partner Alicia Adams, added the U13 girls doubles title to her name with Eleanor Downs and Emma Cox (Pembroke) taking 2nd place.

In the U15 boys’ singles Tomos Jones (S.Glam) come through a close semi-final match against Dewi Au Yeung (SAWGBA) winning the encounter 19-17 in the 3rd game. However, Pratyush Pradeep (Cheshire) proved too strong for Jones in the final, winning 15/11 15/13. Isobel Adams (Gwent) came through a few tough matches to win the U15 girls singles event. Helayna Birkett (Cheshire) took 2nd position. Despite losing to Ben Grace and Thomas Forster (Cheshire) in the group stage, Amogh Patil and Thomas Catherall (NEWBA) won the boys doubles event with a 3 set win against Lewis Richards and Thomas Jones (South Glam).

Joe Lewis (NEWBA) defeated Owen Edwards (Cheshire) in the group stage of the U17 boys singles however with both players reaching the final, Edwards got his revenge and took the title, winning in 3 games 15/13 8/15 15/12. Larissa Meighan-Davies (S.Powys) eased to victory in the U17 girls singles with Zoe Edwards (Cheshire) runner-up. The U17 boys doubles was a close affair and an excellent final which saw Owen Edwards and Joe Lewis beat Matt Reynolds and Ben Jones 16/14, 7/15, 15/13.
