Badminton Wales

christmas letter from the ceo

From the CEO:

Dear Badminton Wales Members

What a year it has been!!

As 2020 draws to a close on behalf of Badminton Wales I would like to say a huge thank you to all our members for supporting Badminton Wales during these difficult times.

Whilst it has been a very challenging year for everyone, I have been extremely thankful for the great support and understanding that we have had from our members. Like all sports in Wales we are desperate to get our Sport back up and running, full steam ahead, and there is hope that in the New Year we will progress further to ensure all of our clubs can come back and enjoy our sport once again. As we have heard this weekend Wales has now gone into Alert level 4 as of December 19th, 2020, which will be reviewed every 3 weeks beginning in January. Our Return to Court guidance remains in place and will continue to be updated in line with Welsh Government announcements. Badminton Wales will keep you up to date with changes to the regulations and circulate guidance to members and clubs in line with your return to the court.

As we move further into the year and conditions start to become less restrictive, Badminton Wales are committed to returning our programmed events calendar as soon as we are able to.

We have many exciting programmes being launched in 2021 -

  • National Squad Camp for our newly selected National Squad Players
  • The return of BW Competitions - working with current guidance
  • Our upcoming Talent ID sessions

BW aim to start 2021 with a bang however we will need to adhere to Government, Sport Wales and PHW guidance.

The resilience of the BW Team has been exceptional and I want to say a huge thank you to the Team and once again to all of you, our valued members of Badminton Wales, for your support throughout the year.

To confirm Badminton Wales Office arrangements over the Christmas period –

The BW Office will be shut from Thursday 24th December and will re-open on Monday 4th January 2021. All enquiries will be answered on the Teams return in 2021.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas with your families and loved ones and I look forward to welcoming you all back to the courts in 2021 when we will step ever closer to resuming Badminton at it best.

Nadolig Llawen from all at Badminton Wales.

Stay safe and see you in the new year.
