Chris Silver Talks to National Squads
Badminton Wales were pleased to have Welsh Commonwealth Triathlete, Chris Silver, give an online talk to the various National Squads over the weekend. Chris is a highly respected Triathlete, represented Wales at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and has multiple Top 10 finishes in the 70.3 Pro races. He has also a Masters in Sport and Clinical Psychology.
During this most unusual of times, Chris was able to create an air of positivity around the current difficult period all sports are going through. This, despite he himself in the process of recovering from Long COVID. While going over some of his most stressful moments, Chris was able to re-focus on some of the more important aspects of his recovery and so was able to re-train parts of his sport that he had previously overlooked. This means as his recovery continues he may well be in a stronger place than he was before he contracted COVID especially in relation to his mental health.
Badminton Wales would like to extend a sincerest thanks to Chris for his insights and time and we wish him well for all his future endeavours. We would like to extend our appreciation to Chris Silver for his thoughtful and engaging presentation to our National Squads. A clear presentation highlighting resilience and positivity in spite of severe challenges. No doubt, our players learned some very valuable lessons from this great athlete. Chris is definitely someone worth listening to.
Good luck Chris in your future ambitions and we will look forward to seeing return to the top step. We would encourage you to follow him on wellbeing1st.com and his Social Media @well_being_first, for more insights.
