With over 100 fantastic matches and over 60 competitors, Saturday's event was a fantastic occasion of junior badminton.

In the U11's the Rees brothers reigned supreme in the doubles adding to their recent National Championship Titles, but Matthew Logan took the gold in the singles beating Cade Rees in a gruelling 3 setter 19-21, 21-8, 21-19.

U13's Arnav Patil took the first title of the morning in the Boys Singles in a thrilling 3 setter taking the match 21-11, 21-23, 23-21 against Keiran Gullick. Arnav teamed up with Anil Patel to take the U13 Boys Doubles title as well beating Keiran Gullick and Sam Higgs.

In the U15's Rhys Badger took the Boys Singles crown beating U13 Welsh Squad member Archie Bult. Boys Doubles was heavily contested with young Adil Kahn playing up an age group with Will Vaughan taking gold. Adil Khan and William Vaughan narrowly beat fellow squad members Archie Bult & Jonathan Ewins 22-20 in the semi-final. In the Final Khan & Vaughan then beat Shuttle supremo’s Dylan Colmer and William "smash" Jowett 21-19, 21-17 in the final.

In the U17's Adil Khan added another coveted doubles title to his crown, this time teaming up with Tomos Jones against Ieuan Phillips and William Vaughan. In the U17's singles Declan Beech was the champion beating Ieuan Phillips in the final.

Onto the girls.. Or should we say girl? As the day really belonged to little Saffron Morris. 8 year old Saffron showed everyone what she was made of, playing with no fear, courage and running on what must have been pure adrenaline. Saffron played a massive 22 matches on her way to winning the U13, U15 and U17 Girls Singles, as well as winning the U13 and U15 girls doubles. Saffron lost one game of the 22 and unfortunately it cost her the U17 doubles title where she was runner up. In total Saffron won 5 titles and was runner up in 1.

Bronte Giddings gave Saffron a big fight in the U13 Girls Singles final, 18-21, 21-18, 21-10.  Saffron and Katie Ovenden defeated Bronte Giddings and Fearne Williams in the U13 Girls Doubles.

In the U15's Girls Singles Cherisse Lau came up just short from upsetting Saffron in the final losing closely 17-21, 17-21. The U15's Girls Doubles was once again the same tale with Cherisse Lau and Katie Ovenden losing 21-17 against Saffron Morris and Jasmine Owen.

The U17's Girls Singles was the tightest of affairs, at one point any one of three could have taken the title, eventually Saffron took the title with a 21-20 victory over Rebecca Williams and Jasmine Owen coming in a very close 3rd. Finally in the U17 Girls Doubles revenge was served for Rebecca Williams partnering Robbyn Brookes who beat Saffron Morris and Jasmine Owen 21-15.
