WSA 'VAT for Sports Clubs' Training

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) are running a VAT for sports clubs workshop running on the 22nd February at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff. It really is a great course that’s full of valuable information!

VAT For Sports Clubs   (Evening Courses)
Sporting clubs and associations are regarded as businesses by HMRC and need to ensure they do not fall foul of the VAT rules. This means that club boards need to keep an eye on the levels of income they generate and identify the VAT treatment of that income to check whether they have to become VAT registered and charge VAT.
Clubs that may be applying for grant funds also need to understand what amounts of VAT they will need to add into their grant applications in order to obtain the correct funding and not be out of pocket. Grants could be spent on building or refurbishing club premises or sports facilities – will VAT be charged by the suppliers and will VAT be recoverably by the club?
These two hour VAT Update sessions are designed to help clubs get to grips with the basic VAT rules in these situations and will be run in the evenings across Wales to ensure the widest possible access for clubs of all sizes.
