2015 4 Nations ParaB

The Badminton Wales 2016-17 season commences this weekend with the Welsh 4 Nations Para Badminton Championships which is being held at SWNC, Cardiff from the 19th - 21st August.

There are 27 events,121 entries and almost 200 matches scheduled to take place over the weekend.

Rachel Choong, who won Badminton Europe's Para Player of the Year 2015, will be competing in the SS6 category in Women's Singles, Doubles and Mixed and also in the Men's Doubles with partner Rebecca Bedford. Rachel also won the UK Sport Inspirational Performance of the Year Award back in February.

Martin Rooke will be competing in the Wheelchair W2 Class with hopes of retaining his title from last season.
He will also be competing in the Standing SL3 Singles where he came third last year. 

The Welsh players will also be looking to make their mark.
Kevin Egan and Lloyd Crawley will hope to better good performances last year where they both reached the Semi Finals of the Singles, and James Savory will be looking to retain his Doubles title with partner Stephen Davies who also won his singles event last year.

There will be plenty of competitive action to be seen over the weekend and with free admission there really is no reason not to come and support the Para Championships! Badminton will now feature in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games so don't miss a chance to see potential future Paralympians in action.
