Wales Indians Badminton Tournament

Badminton Wales were contacted by John Yella of Wales Indians Badminton. For the third year in the row, All Indians in Wales ran a superb tournament at Sport Wales National Centre on the 25th of January. The event was supported by 32 teams in the men's doubles and 10 teams in the mixed event. The tournament was split into Intermediate and Intermediate Plus categories. The event was so popular that teams travelled from Taunton, London, Bristol - and more locally, from Swansea and Cardiff.

The event ran seamlessly and was a credit to the British Asian community. Event organisers ran the tournament through the rounds, culminating in heated finals. Players from Cardiff & District Badminton League, Swansea Leagues, and Avon Leagues also participated in the event. Spectators crowded in to watch the event, including many families of the players.

The trophies were sponsored by The Mentor Ring and presented by Anna McMorrin, MP for Cardiff North and Dr Isabel Graham, High Sheriff of Glamorgan. Wales Indian Badminton would like to extend their thanks to all players and participants, and hope to see them next year!
