Following the successful training of the Gower College students and the Youth Service they have now been deployed into a number of primary schools in the area.  These schools include Gorseinon, Casllwchwr,  Penyrheol, Tre-Uchaf, Gowerton, Crwys, Dunvant, Hendrefoilan, Penllergaer, Pengelli, Bryniago, Pontarddulais, Gendros and Login Fach.

The students will deliver a number of BISI sessions in these primary schools over a number of weeks.  The sessions will include fun activities such as throwminton, keepy ups and relays along with skill sessions that develop their existing skills.

A fun multi skills festival was then delivered which incorporated the skills and fun activities already delivered in the schools.  Following on from this it is hoped that many of the children will join one of the turn up and play sessions that will be held in the leisure centres.

The photos include shots of the festival along with shots of the training being delivered to the students.  This development programme has been successful due to the working partnership between Badminton Wales, Gower College and the Swansea Sports Development team.

Future aims include rolling this development programme out on an annual basis to ensure that the development of badminton skills in the primary schools continues.
