Solibad comes to Powys

June 28th is International Solibad (Badminton without Borders) day.  To mark the day, junior Badminton players from all over Powys will be coming together at the leisure centre in Llandrindod Wells for a tournament organised by the Powys County Badminton Association in collaboration with Badminton Wales to raise money to support this charity.

Solibad was born on December 10th 2009, as a symbol for the Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human rights.  Solibad is current carrying out projects with a badminton focus in countries such as Brazil, Iran, Haiti, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Badminton players all around the world are planning events for Solibad day and so far 45 cities have registered their events – if you visit the Solibad website, you will find Llandrindod as one of those cities standing proud with London, Paris, Moscow, Tokyo and Hollywood!

So if you are in Llandrindod Wells on Saturday 28th June, why not visit the leisure centre any time between 9.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. and watch Powys juniors playing badminton and buy a raffle ticket or make a contribution to a worthy cause?
