New addition to the Badminton Wales board

Badminton Wales are thrilled to announce the recent appointment of Ann Bevan to our Board of Directors.

A former teacher, Ann Bevan has worked at Sport Wales for over ten years, and has been in her current role as a High Performance Advisor since 2011. Over the past Commonwealth cycle, Ann worked with Welsh Gymnastics, Welsh Cycling, Welsh Boxing, Welsh Bowls and Disability Sport Wales which helped to contribute to Wales’ most successful Commonwealth Games with these sports alone contributing 21 medals to the 36 medal total. Her next focus is helping to facilitate the preparation of athletes selected for Rio as well as ensuring that successful performance systems are put in place that will ultimately deliver medals for Wales in the Gold Coast in 2018 and beyond.

Ann is a keen supporter of sport and has a wealth of performance experience as a player, educator and parent and looks forward to contributing to Badminton Wales.

Badminton Wales Chairman, Hefin Archer-Williams commented: "I am delighted to have Ann on board. She has a wealth of experience in performance across a number of sports and she will no doubt help in further strengthening the board as we move forwards."

Interim General Manager Sue Maughan also remarked: "Ann is passionate about sport. Having worked with Badminton Wales previously as a liaison officer she understands the sport of Badminton, and in addition to this her wealth of experience in improving performance systems to ensure sustained success she’ll be an invaluable asset for BW in further strengthening their performance systems and structures."
