National Junior Coach Appointed

Badminton Wales announce the appointment of Donal O’Halloran as the Junior National Performance Coach in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University. Both organisations would like to welcome Donal into his new role.  
 
Donal’s passion and wealth of experience as an International Badminton player for Ireland and leading the National Performance program for several years; his knowledge and ability as a coach reflects the ambition and vision of Badminton Wales.  
 
Badminton Wales’ Performance Manager Matthew Hughes commented “It's an extremely exciting post for Badminton Wales, Cardiff Metropolitan University and our players. It was extremely important to both parties to ensure we continued the work that has been done over the past year or so establishing the Badminton Wales/Cardiff Met Academy and the relationship that has been built. The collaborative role addresses the needs of both organisations and Donal having vast experience in both environments provides us with confidence to lead the National Junior Programme and BUCS team going forward." 
 
The role will encompass all Regional Academy South East responsibilities along with the overseeing of the National Junior Performance programme for Badminton Wales and the Cardiff Met Student Teams and Academy. Donal is due to start on Monday 2nd October.
