Lloyd Crawley, a member of Cardiff Shadows Badminton Club, has taken the gold medal in the men’s singles event and a silver medal in the men's doubles event at the Special Olympics World Games 2015.

Crawley was one of seven athletes from Special Olympics Wales to go to Los Angeles, California, for the Special Olympics World Games where more than 6,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 165 nations were to compete in 25 sports.

Crawley has encountered much success in the latest 4 Nations Para-Badminton Championships series, claiming gold in the Class 2 men’s doubles in the Welsh leg and gold in both the men’s singles and mixed doubles events in the Scottish leg of the Championships, showing that he has been in great form this season.

Eddie O’Neill commented,

"I’m delighted for Lloyd - a great ambassador for not just badminton but for Welsh sport!"

Congratulations Lloyd!
