Date of event: 8th-9th Feb 2020

The Celtic Challenge is the first Welsh representation event. It is also one of the mechanisms which the National Junior coach can identify potential RA members.
For the 2020 edition, players must be born in 2007 or later.
Selection for this event will be based on the BW selection criteria. However, in recognition of the difficulties that such young players have had, selection events will be prioritised as follows;

All Badminton Wales Gold and Open events.

Priority 1
Deganwy Junior Gold October 18th/19th 2019
Gwent Junior Gold November 24th 2019
Powys Junior Open December 15th 2019
Badminton England Gold events

Priority 2
Badminton England U13 Silver/Bronze

Priority 3
Any other Wales event (including Top Schools etc)

As well as these events, a specific “Trial Day” has been added. 5 Satellite coaches have been contacted and been asked to recommend 6 players who may not have previous experience of competition but may be suitable for selection.
