The Cardiff Shuttle saw its biggest entry for some time with 68 entries from across South Wales and Herefordshire. With the Shuttle National Finals not too far away players in the South only have one tournament left in order to qualify for the event. The Bridgend Shuttle takes place this weekend and there is still time to enter.

The Rhyl Junior Shuttle was the last tournament of the North Wales circuit. Players ranked in the top 4 of the rankings will be invited to the National Finals, where they will meet the South Wales qualifying players.

Onto the men’s singles over 45 category and the decisive match saw Roy Watkins take on Steve Ellaway. Roy triumphed in 3 sets 15/13, 14/15, 15/7. Steve took the men’s doubles title partnering Steve Miles and it was Jane Givelin who took the ladies singles title, with Karina Williams and Ceri Goodman picking up the ladies doubles title.
