On Tuesday 18th February, 67 children from four primary schools from Ystradgynlais, Ysgol Bro Tawe, Ysgol Cribarth, Ysgol Golwg Y Cwm and Ysgol Gymraeg Dyffryn y Glowyr, came together to participate in a BISI festival at the Sport Wales National Centre.

The festival included eight different activities where the children, in small groups, participated in the activities on a rotational basis.  The activities included keepy-ups, freestyle keepy-ups, lungeminton, throwminton, doubles freeplay, low serves, high serves and quick feet.  The activities were delivered by leaders from Cardiff and Vale College, without whom the festival could not run.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and commented that,
“It was good to try new things especially doing the freestyle keepy-ups; they were fun.”

The children will now be able to attend the community badminton session that will start on March 3rd at the leisure centre in Maes Y Dderwen.

Badminton Wales would like to thank the teachers for bringing the children to the festival.
