A superb day was had by all at the Barry Island Sports, Arts and Play Weekender where members of the public had the opportunity to have a go at badminton on the beach and on the promenade. It was great to see so many people having fun as a family. There were children as young as 2 years old having a go at badminton whilst grandparents were showing their grand kids a thing or two. The weather took a turn for the worse on Sunday morning but the sport, arts and play activities were still delivered under the cover of the eastern shelter and the beach huts. The Sunday afternoon turned out sunny once again and the sunshine brought the crowds with it.

Hundreds of people young and old enjoyed a variety of fun activities that included badminton on the beach. One participant said that they had great fun playing badminton with their kids on the beach and it’s something they would like to do again as a family."
