Badminton Wales are excited to announce the recent appointment of two new members to join our board of directors, following the elections held 31 st January 2016. Catherine McCluskey (formerly known as Catherine Ogilvie) and Kerry Ann Sheppard were the nominated individuals to make the cut. We are confident that these two highly professional women will make an outstanding contribution to Badminton Wales in the very near future.

Catherine McCluskey is an experienced sports development professional, presently managing the Sports Development Team at UWE, Bristol. She is a badminton player herself, and has represented Wales as a junior, before embarking on the educational route of sport development and coaching. Currently Catherine has invested into the development of badminton by becoming the lead tutor for Badminton Wales, as well as being self employed as a sports therapist.

Likewise, Kerry Ann Sheppard has also represented Wales in badminton. A former international badminton player, with experience competing at World, European, and Commonwealth Games, Kerry Ann is passionate about providing all children the opportunity to fulfil their potential and enjoy sport. She currently specialises in business improvement and development, and for the past two years has been working for Eversheds LLP.

Interim General Manager, Sue Maughan noted: “We are delighted to have two new female board members to add to our ever growing team. I am certain that the appointment of Catherine and Kerry Ann will be of significant benefit to Badminton Wales, and will help move the sport forward. With the many recent and on-going changes at Badminton Wales, there are sure to be many exciting times ahead.”

We wish them good luck in their new roles as Badminton Wales board directors.
