2012 Top Schools Championships - South Wales

Cardiff High School won the boys' South Wales Top Schools Championship with their team consisting of Matthew Pritchard, Rory Xiao, Ethan Ren and Darren Luu. A repeat of last year’s regional final saw Cardiff High defeat Y Pant 4-1. Tsung Fong Mo was the only player from Y Pant to pick up a game defeating doubles partner and rival Matthew Pritchard 21-14. Matthew had his own back in the doubles when he paired up with Ethan Ren and they defeated Tsung Fong Mo and Liam Mo. Crickhowell took 3rd spot defeating Gwyr 5-0 in the 3rd/4th playoff match.

There was another repeat final from last season in the girls' team event. Y Pant came out on top defeating Gwyr 3-2 in a closely fought match. Y Pant took both girls singles Gean Sou Mo defeating Emma Craven and Chloe Mo just edged out Elis Richards 21-18. With Y Pant needing one game to win the match this came when Gean Sou Mo partnered Charlotte Williams and they defeated Emma Craven and Gwenllion Price 21-12.

St Albans defeated Crickhowell for the 3rd / 4th playoff match.

Y Pant girls team consisted of Gean Sou Mo, Chloe Mo, Charlotte Williams and Frankie Mitchelle.

A total of 42 teams from 20 South Wales schools competed in the event.
