The Penley Cluster Primary School Children have enjoyed Bisi Badminton delivery within their schools for five weeks. Each school was invited to attend one of two Bisi Badminton Festivals held at The Maelor School, Penley. 168 primary school children from six schools attended the festivals and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The festival was led by the Badminton Development Officer (BDO) and the Penley AYP Officer, with eight Sports Leaders from The Maelor School, Penley delivering on fun activity stations. Activities included Throwminton, King of the Court, One Minute Rally Challenge, Keepy Uppys, High Serves and Low Serves. Pupils rotated around the activity stations in groups and then participated in doubles match play for the second half of the festival.

The pupils received a certificate of attendance and the school received an equipment bag full of racquets, shuttles, fluff balls and a big shuttle to enable the School to continue delivery of Bisi Badminton.

Wrexham’s BDO, Leanne Brown says,

“The Bisi Festival is a great opportunity for the pupils to use the skills learnt within their sessions and apply them to the activities. The festival is focused around fun and the pupils seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, especially the doubles match play for those that were a little more competitive!”
